SIM DJ CONTEST @ THE LOUNGE 08.21.10
The 4 finalists of our second 2010 DJ Contest have been chosen! The following DJ’s will compete this Saturday at The Lounge for an opening DJ slot at either our Armin Van Buuren event or our Deadmau5 event. However, if we are impressed, we will provide DJ slots for the other finalists as well. For example, in the last contest we ran, the 1st prize DJ’d the main stage with Benny Benassi, the 2nd prize DJ’d the main stage with Paul van Dyk, and the 3rd and 4th prize DJ’s performed in the events’ smoking lounge.
The 4 finalists are:
BZ
K-Drive
Joe The Ripper
Clayzer The Lazer
Each finalist will have 30 minutes to show us what their all about. Judging will be based on technical skill, crowd interaction, programming and their following. Getting as many of their supporters out will be a component in winning the final round. What good is having a DJ if no one wants to see them, right?
Cities of Gold & Nate Lee will holding down the main room all night as well!

Who is Gareth Emery?
To say Gareth Emery has had a good year would be a vast understatement. Over the past twelve months, the popularity and buzz surrounding the young Brit reached explosive proportions, culminating in him being voted no.9 in 2009’s definitive DJ Mag Top 100 poll: one of only a handful of DJs to crack the world’s top ten before the age of 30.
The rise of Gareth Emery to dance music’s premier league has been untraditional in almost every sense, and looking at his career, one gets the feeling he almost likes being the underdog. In 2009, when he was advised against launching his Garuda club night in the midst of one of the harshest recessions in living memory, he went ahead regardless, going on to totally sell-out every Garuda party that year. He also chose the road less travelled in 2006, when he turned down numerous offers from established radio stations to instead experiment with a virtually unknown format known as podcasting. It was a gamble that paid off, as four years and 100 episodes later, The Gareth Emery Podcast is now one of the most popular and influential dance music downloads in the world, with Emery’s famously diverse track selection and charismatic broadcasting style resulting in TGEP being nominated for ‘Best Podcast’ at the Miami Winter Music Conference IDMA Awards three years running.
At just 29, Gareth Emery’s well on the way to conquering the electronic music world, and if he finally cracks that artist album, he might just do it. Whatever happens though, 2010’s set to be a big one, as the worldwide Garuda massive eagerly await to see what’s coming next from this uniquely talented artist. We can’t wait – see you on the dancefloor.

Who is Donald Glaude?
Confident. Exuberant. Raw. Innovative. These are just a few of the words industry insiders and fans have used to describe the talent behind one of America’s favorite house DJs, Donald Glaude. Ranked #68 on DJMag.com’s Top 100 DJs List in 2005, Donald skyrocketed to #48 this year and his genius keeps on growing…
Born in Tacoma, Washington, Donald’s love for music began at an early age. Originally a disciplined student of classical music, he was well-versed in the upright bass and violin. Any aspirations Donald had to continue in the classical vein vanished once he heard his first house record. With an ear for blending music already under his belt, and a love for the energy and soul of musical prodigies like George Clinton and Funkadelic, Donald began to amass a collection of house records which he taught himself to mix with a pair of mismatched turntables and a Radio Shack mixer.
Before Donald few DJs had attempted to spin house records. Donald’s fine ear helped him give birth to a new style. After mastering his craft, Donald began DJing in various clubs around Tacoma and Seattle. During that time he made several important connections which would launch his music to the forefront of what was quickly becoming one of the largest underground movements since New Wave in the late-70s. Perhaps the greatest connection Donald made was with another aspiring DJ and friend, DJ Dan.
Together Donald & DJ Dan sparked the rave scene in Seattle and developed large followings. Knowing that Donald possessed an energy and ability to work the crowd that was unparalleled to anyone else on the circuit, Dan convinced San Francisco’s legendary Funky Tekno Tribe to bring down his good friend Donald to play at one of their parties. Donald’s talents quickly made him a permanent fixture on F.T.T.’s roster.
Some DJs seek commercial acceptance. Donald, on the other hand, has always preferred an emotional connection with his audience. For Donald, house music is not simply a mixed bag of sound, but rather an experience that provokes the soul. Apart from his mastery on the decks, Donald is best known for his dynamic showmanship. He enjoys his music as much as his audience does. Embracing their energy, it is not uncommon to find Donald pumping his hands in the air, jumping up and down and shouting back his love to the crowd. It is this powerful signature style which has led fellow DJ and musical producer, Dave Aude, to call Donald the “James Brown of DJs.” Donald also caused some stir in 2005 and 2006 with his residency at ICE Nightclub in Las Vegas.
Donald’s uncompromising style and innovation show no sign of slowing down any time soon. With the credit of 5 full-length CDs and numerous remixes under his belt, Donald has focused much of his time to production work. Producing such dance floor hits as “Get Up” and “Soul Cha Cha”. As such, Donald has launched two record labels in which are causing rumblings in the industry. Eden Recordings, started with fellow DJ Rick V, and Durty Records, a collaboration with good friend Vince Lombardi.
Donald’s 2005 release, “This is Me” (Moist Music), is a 35-track double CD that defines his creativity, sound and vibrant style. Since its release, Donald’s fans have been eager to hear what’s next from their favorite DJ. Fans will be pleased to know that Donald’s hard at work on another double CD, “For the People” (Moist Music), a live recording and original tracks produced by Donald himself. With the completion of this latest project, the world should be prepared to experience all sides of Donald Glaude: DJ. Producer. ARTIST.
Continuing to be “The Hardest Working American Dj” Donald has many new projects planned for this upcoming year. He has a tour scheduled with “America’s Most Beloved Dj” Dj Dan and he also has another new CD releasing in 2007. Also expect new release from both of his labels Eden Recordings and Durty Records. You have seen him use his musical talents from bring his experience in playing bass, percussion, violin and then moving on to the turntable just show us his grasp on music. To mastering the turntable and then on to recently turned Serato user always expect the unexpected when you come see Donald Glaude…

PAUL VAN DYK @ EPIC 05.21.10
Over 2000 people last year can not be wrong, and PvD knows how to bring it with style, flair, and passion!
Sound In Motion is stepping it up once again, and excited to present a stage/sound/light performance that will blow you away!
PAUL VAN DYK
Grammy nominated artist, globally acclaimed DJ and audio architect Paul van Dyk continues to dominate the electronic music charts and appears at the pinnacle of every Top DJ list around the globe. PvD, as his fans have nicknamed him, has been ranked the World’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJs poll” two times something less than a handful of DJs have ever achieved.
PvD is credited as one of the hardest working artists in electronic music, with sold-out tours that cross each continent, headline spots at every major festival, and a hugely successful recording career. With over 3 million albums sold worldwide, van Dyk travels around the world over 16 times each year to sold out performances internationally. On New Years Eve 2008/2009 Paul played Barra Beach to over 1 million people in Rio de Janero giving testament to his incredible popularity the world over. In 2008 Paul expanded into creating music for video games and movie soundtracks. His work with EA Games has resulted in mulitple releases featuring his music on Mirror’s Edge and Grand Slam Tennis out in 2009. Paul has also lent his talents to remixing Batman’s “Dark Knight Theme” written by Hanz Zimmer. But Paul is no stranger to high profile remixes, he has put his unique twist on Depeche Mode’s “Martyr”, Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around” and Britney Spears “Gimme More” just to name a few. His original album In Between released in 2007 and featured collaborations with David Byrne and Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls as well as Rea Garvey of Reamon and Johnny McDaid of Vega 4.
PvD received a Grammy nomination in 2005 for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his original album Reflections – this marked the first time NARAS recognized this category. His original productions from Reflections have been synced into major motion pictures such as Into the Blue, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, television’s Entertainment Tonight and MTV’s Cribs, and international ad campaigns for Motorola, HBO, Land Rover, Ski Vail and most recently for Jeep. This year he won the International Dance Music Award (IDMA) for Best Euro DJ.
Previously, PvD won four IDMAs in 2006: Best Global DJ, Best NuNRG/Euro Track, Best Producer and Best Mix Compilation for The Politics of Dancing 2. In addition, PvD was voted “America’s Favorite DJ” for 2004 and 2005 by BPM Magazine and was the big winner at the 2004 Dancestar Awards, taking home 3 awards: Best International DJ, Best Event and Best Music in a Commercial (Motorola). He also won the Mexican Oscar for his soundtrack in the film Zurdo in March 2004. Paul van Dyk was voted “Best Music Maker” by DJ Magazine, received the “Best International DJ Award” at the 1999 Music Awards in London, was named “Best International DJ” by Ministry of Sound Magazine, and Mixmag elected him as “Man of the Year”.
Aside from his musical activity, Paul van Dyk has always dedicated a significant part of his life to politics and social justice: from his youth, when he fled over the Berlin Wall to the West, to his children’s charity in India’s Mumbai, and his partnership scheme with the German Red Cross to help poor children in Berlin. In 2004, PvD was the only electronic artist involved in a nationwide tour with the Rock The Vote campaign, where he joined the likes of Bono, P Diddy, the Black Eyed Peas and George Clinton in campaigning for America’s youth to sign up to vote in the presidential election. He most recently received Berlin’s Medal of Honor (Landesverdienstorden) in recognition of his work with Ruckenwind, a charity organization he founded dedicated to helping poor children in Berlin. He joins a distinguished list of arts and political establishment figures with this honor.
Born in Eisenhuettenstadt, East Germany, Paul van Dyk grew up in communist East Berlin. Because his community did not have a true club culture, Paul van Dyk listened to the radio where he discovered his passion for music that extended beyond Techno music – he wanted to create a different, more unique sound. In the early 1990’s Paul van Dyk was spinning regularly at various clubs in Berlin before releasing his first album 45 RPM in 1994. But it wasn’t until the release of his second album Seven Ways which catapulted him into the Top 100, followed by the release of his hit single “For An Angel,” which began to earn him praise across the globe. By the time Paul van Dyk released Out There & Back in 2000, it became clear that the Berlin-based musician had far more to offer than his signature club sets and remixes that had already defined him as one of the most influential DJs and producers of all time. His first compilation mix CD Politics of Dancing was released in 2001, followed by Global in 2003 – a DVD which illustrates his own experiences traveling the world.
Paul van Dyk’s touring diary remains incredibly hectic with regular globetrotting stops at major venues across the globe from New York, London, Ibiza to India, China and Singapore. In the little time remaining between all the travel, Paul van Dyk resides in Berlin where he has his own radio show “Paul van Dyk’s VONYC Sessions” which airs weekly on the Area Channels on Sirius XM Satellite Radio on Thursday nights at 6PM EST (and rebroadcasts Saturdays at 8PM EST and Tuesdays at Midnight EST) and Soundgarden which airs every Wednesday 2pm – 4pm (EST) on Fritz radio and over the internet (www.fritz.de) as well as Galaxy FM in the UK.

BAD BOY BILL @ EPIC NIGHTCLUB 04.23.10
Friday, April 23rd
Sound In Motion is proud to present America’s #1 house dj…
BAD BOY BILL!!!!
This man has defined house music from Chicago to the rest of the US for years, morphing and changing his sound throughout the many moods and twists of dance music. Bill (BBB) has uncanny abilities on the decks, and has adapting his turntablism tactics from his past to the more recent digital age. Did you know he is one of the owners of Beatport? Always forward thinking, always entertaining, always a music maniac who knows how to deliver the goods on the dancefloor… enter America’s #1 house dj and an all-time Mpls fave BAD BOY BILL
“Bad Boy Bill is in the mix and he’s live – Understand!”
So goes one of the legendary chants of Chicago house icon Bad Boy Bill, who began name checking when he first started out on the radio to distinguish himself from the other DJs on the airwaves. Bill has come a long way from his days as a radio mix show DJ. On his belt hang the titles of DJ, Artist, Producer, Songwriter, and Entrepreneur. Not to mention three-time DMC FINALIST, 1998 Winter Music Conference MIXSHOW DJ OF THE YEAR, 1999 URB Magazine 2nd Place DJ OF THE YEAR, and this year’s #1 FAVORITE DJ according to BPM Magazine. And now, after the success of the Bangin’ In The Box series, Bill is upping the ante to deliver Behind the Decks, a new mix CD and DVD, on System Recordings.
Hailed by DJ Magazine as “One of America’s most popular and influential DJs,” the renowned artist didn’t grow up dreaming of making music – in his youth, he thought he would perhaps pursue a career as a professional baseball player. But in high school, after joining a DJ crew with some of his neighborhood friends, Bill entered the world of DJ battles and party promotion. “My DJ style originated with the idea to remix a song live with two copies of the same record and then combine scratching and hip-hop techniques with house grooves.” At only 16, his friend Julian “Jumpin” Perez, who deemed Bill “the dopest white kid he’d ever seen,” stood Bill before prominent radio jockey Farley Jackmaster Funk at WGCI, and he began scratching and mixing the eight records he’d been practicing on for hours every day. Farley was so impressed he recruited Bill right then and there. After WGCI, Bill found himself on the airwaves again on Chicago’s B96, and eventually broadened his skills, making his own tracks and starting his own record label while still a senior in high school. Nowadays, Bill averages over 150 DJ gigs annually, playing everywhere from New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles to international hotspots including Peru, Colombia, Germany, England, and Spain.
Coming from a broad musical and cultural background, Bill cites numerous personal influences. “My grandfather was an opera singer so he was always into music, and was very supportive,” he says. “My dad took me downtown to buy my first set of 1200s – I will always thank him for that.” Additionally influenced by the likes of motivational speaker Anthony Robbins and Chicago mix show DJs ‘The Hot Mix 5’, Bill notes, “Everything I hear affects every song I choose to play and the way I play it.”
And his inspiration? Spinning the crowd into a dancing frenzy with his lighting-quick mixes (often playing up to 20 records in the time the average DJ would mix in 5). “The payoff for me is seeing people dancing and having a great time during my set,” he explains. And of course, another source of inspiration: the ladies (Bill was named the “Wilt Chamberlain of Techno” by Lotus Magazine).
A perfectionist, Bill is always striving to expand and improve upon what he’s done before. And Bill feels this new mix is doing just that – moving forward, progressing and growing. “My musical style is constantly evolving. I used to spin deep house, acid house, hip house, freestyle, techno, and the list goes on. My sound today is what it is based on the music I have heard or made prior,” Bill says. Smiling, he adds, “My personal style has changed as well, from Underoos to Wranglers, Jordache to parachute pants, and then all the way to Snug and Prada.”
In spite of all of his accomplishments, Bad Boy Bill remains modest, levelheaded and positively motivated about his direction. “I am always thinking about the future.” Working in the studio up to 14-16 hours some days, Bill continues to push the boundaries, both with Behind The Decks as well as his next endeavour: his artist album.

About Kaskade:
The Chicago-born songwriter/producer/DJ/phenomenon is one of electronic music’s most sought-after emissaries, and one of its most beloved figures. Unaffected and laidback, ready to warm the room – to a simmer or a boil – with his unrivaled brand of bass-thumping uplifting music, KASKADE has been on the festival circuit for years playing on such stages as Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, SXSW, Australian festival Parklife, and Electric Daisy Carnival, and in 2009 he shared the stage with Perry Farrell at Lollapalooza.
Kaskade’s chart topping singles off of Strobelite Seduction “Angel On My Shoulder” and “Move For Me” “Step One Two” are still in heavy rotation on dance stations worldwide. His recent collaboration with Deadmau5 “I Remember” landed on BBC Radio 1′s Top 20 and hit #16 on the Official UK Singles Chart.
Combined with the release of his mix CDThe Grand and latest artist album Stobelite Seduction, Kaskade has jump started a never ending tour schedule that has him crossing continents from Australia, Asia, Europe, and North & South America. With a successful string of club dates, Kaskade’s performance at the 2009 Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles was unforgettable and undoubtedly one of the most talked about sets at the festival.
Kaskade’s packed tour schedule might make you think he had no time for studio work. Think again. When not busy remixing the “Who’s Who” of pop music: Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Empire of the Sun, Britney Spears, Keri Hilson, Nelly Furtado, Seal, Pussycat Dolls, he’s working on his original productions pushing out a recent string of number one songs and projects such as Stobelite Seduction and his recent chart-topping endeavor The Grand.
His new album Dynasty will be in stores May 11 and available on iTunes at the end of April – this will be the only MN stop on his worldwide release tour.

<<<CITIES OF GOLD>>>
Never content with mediocracy, Cities of Gold has come to signify a keen sense of quality, style, and energy in the Midwest DJ community. He quickly became a staple in Minneapolis nightlife after joining SIM almost a half decade ago. His rise started alongside Tyler Hampton as one-half of the popular DJ duo, The Hamptons. As for the last couple of years, he has focused on building the profile and success of his solo name, Cities of Gold. From opening for the biggest DJ’s in the world to holding down residencies on his own, Cities of Gold has brought a unique blend of House, Nu Disco, and Indie to the decks, opening a whole world of new music to unsuspecting audiences. He has the uncanny ability to get you dancing to the music you will love in the future, having a strong pulse on the life flow of dance music. You may have seen him DJ’ing alongside Bad Boy Bill, Ferry Corsten, D.Ramirez, Filo & Peri, hosting the summer rooftop Spectrum parties, for Puma, and now every 3rd Saturday of the month @ The Lounge in downtown Minneapolis. The future is bright for this rising star, as he ventures further into the world of producing his own original music. Cities of Gold defines his own standard, and we all have the opportunity to bask in the glow.
Here’s a recent interview of the SIM resident, Cities of Gold…
Q: What inspires you when digging for new music?
A: I have a really broad taste in music so it’s really easy for me to be inspired. I have a passion for fresh, new music so it’s not uncommon to hear completely different sets from me at back-to-back gigs. There will be times where a handful of new drum & bass or chillout tracks will inspire something in me and I’ll want to forgo playing what I normally play! I guess that’s something I’ll always deal with as long as there’s fresh new sounds to enjoy.
Q: What do you feel differentiates you from all the other DJ’s out there playing music?
A: Well, with everyone being a DJ these days it’s pretty difficult to stand out! I know from attending so many different parties that it’s easy to tell who is passionate about the music and puts in the countless hours of digging and listening. For a lot of DJ’s, I know Beatport is a first and last stop for them when it comes to what they play. Don’t get me wrong, Beatport is a great resource and many great releases are exclusive to the site–it’s definitely a regular stop for me. However, you’ll only find that a select few DJ’s in the Twin Cities are putting in the time to find more obscure or fresh talent and really evolve in what their sound is.
Q: Talk about your interest in backpacking. Any cool adventures you would be willing to share?
A: I’m really big into backcountry sports like hiking, biking, camping and so on. This past fall I spent some time in Costa Rica which is one of the most environmentally diverse and intense countries. I trekked across everything I could really and made my way from border to border. It’s very easy to get caught in some dangerous situations when you wander off the map. In CR, I needed some impromptu medical assistance from a friend when we were forced to cross a large brackish river at high tide, near dark. We were in some really thick rainforest and I accidentally brushed up against tall palm with thorns. I had probably 30 spikes in my right arm, each about 2 inches long! Some of them had gotten under the skin and were catching on muscle tissue which, for those who don’t know, is REALLY PAINFUL!
Q: How has being a “go-getter” provided opportunities for you in life?
A: I guess to be defined as a “go-getter” you have to maintain certain traits. Of course, I’m super outgoing and ambitious about things I have a passion for. But I’ve found that having a certain arrogance about your passion is critical too. There are way too many forces in life that can yank you down in a second. For me, being a little arrogant is a good way of deterring most of those forces. Once you find the right attitude you just have to really follow through in getting what you want. When I was 16 years old I only dreamed of playing with artists like Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Bad Boy Bill. After getting my priorities in order as a teenager and really began chasing after that dream, I made it become a reality. Now that I’ve made this possible, I’m looking ahead and pushing for the next big thing I want to accomplish.
Q: How do you balance your involvement with the music community with the rest of your life?
A: It can get really tough at times when your juggling full-time work, family, friends with DJ’ing and producing. You never seem to get the right amount of each! Over the years I guess it evens itself out with less important things and relationships fading away. It can be sad to reflect on it at times but when you’re really following your passion, it’s always worth it.
Q: What is your favorite type of DJ gig? Why?
A: I enjoy a variety of types whether it’s a house party with friends or a huge event with three thousand people. Being able to play the music I love to people who are there to listen and enjoy life is really the only formula I need in a gig. I guess I would want good sound too!
Q: What are you planning to focus on with your monthly residency at The Lounge?
A: I’m planning on transcending a handful of genres throughout the night; mostly house, disco, and indie. There tends to be this stigma of indie and nu-disco music being something only “hipsters” listen to. At the Lounge, I really want to expose a more mainstream oriented crowd to a fresh alternative dance sound. Whether your open to that or not, it’s gonna be a party!

Sound In Motion and Particle People are very proud to join forces and present a night of incredible music! Know that these two promoters plan on making this a memorable night for all, and with a lineup like the main room has, sound, lights, and atmosphere will be set accordingly.
Loco Dice
Every so often a DJ or producer comes along who inspires the collective imagination. If you’ve seen Loco Dice perform at his ten-year-long Tribehouse residency in his hometown Düsseldorf, or at DC-10 in Ibiza (from ’02-’06), you will have clicked to this. Loco Dice is someone who can puzzle together intangible moods with a direct approach. Via his DJ sets or his productions on labels like M_nus, Cadenza, Ovum, Four Twenty and Cocoon, he merges perspectives in his delicate sense for sounds and reflective atmospheres, underpinned with solid, physical grooves inspired by the hip hop that was his early sonic stomping ground in the mid- to late ‘90s. There’s something there for the dreamers, as well as for the 9-to-5ers who just want to lose everything in a moment of abandon on the dancefloor.
Martin Buttrich
Martin Buttrich has been involved in such a large number of productions since his beginnings in Hanover, Germany in 1995, it would give even the most eager of train spotters a difficult time. But by searching him on the web, you won´t be able to find much. Talking to Buttrich, however, you get the sense that he likes it that way. Shy by nature, Buttrich kept his head down working as a traditional studio producer for over a decade, producing records together with acts like Timo Maas and Loco Dice.
So what about Martin himself? In between all these amazing releases and projects he has found time to do stuff under his own name, releasing records on high profile labels such as Planet E, Cocoon and Four:Twenty, as well as putting together a live show.
The result was a string of big records including ‘Full Clip’ his remix of Tracey Thorn’s ‘It’s All True’ and most recently ‘Stoned Autopilot’ for Carl Craig’s Planet E label.
Loco Dice productions began to surface on Four:twenty and Superstar Recordings and took the dark and twisted sound developed for Timo and with Dice’s influence stripped it right back to produce a fiercely isolated groove that has come to embody the dominant sound on dance floors in 2006. Loco Dice singles on Josh Wink’s Ovum, Richie Hawtin’s Minus and Sven Vath’s Cocoon have made Martin Buttrich and Loco Dice productions the number 1 sound right across the world and they are both on the eve of a move to New York in order to start soaking up the city’s influence that they then want to translate into an album. The city also inspired Martin and Loco Dice to start their own record label and create a platform for music without blinkers. Desolat Music Group was born in 2007 and Loco Dice’s mesmerizing debut “7 Dunham Place” was released in 2008.
But Martin is not only the studio wizard. You can catch him playing live in all serious clubs world wide. His live act includes laptop, several effect boxes, synthesizer and it constantly changes as it’s important for Martin to act spontaneously, capture the mood of certain moments and experiment
instead of playing one hit after another.
Livio & Roby
Livio & Roby are two Romanian producers and DJs. They met in 2004, found mutual connection in their musical taste and style and joined forces to become production and DJ partners. With a great understanding of dance music and exceptional production skills they were soon making and remixing tracks on a regular basis. They produced tracks and remixes which appeared on labels such as Desolat, Cecille, Fumakilla, Junior Boy´s Own or Viva.
These two guys have made their own sound, ranging from Deep House and Tech to Detroit Techno. Their project, Monochrome, which also includes George G, brought the band both global prizes at the Heineken Music Thirst Studio Global Session competition in 2006 – The Global Winners and The People’s Choice Award. Being the Romanian winners of the local competition in 2006, 2007 got them in Las Vegas to represent their country and, of course, South Eastern Europe. Magazines like DJ Mag and Juice described their sets at Tao Beach and Tao Club as “highlights of the weekend”.
In the beginning of 2008 Roby was awarded as Best Upcoming Artist at the Nights.ro Awards and Livio & Roby were awarded as the Best Producers at South Eastern Europe Music Exhibition Awards. In Romania, they started their own radio show at One FM, where they play two hours alongside their special guests.
By the end of 2007 they saw themselves “trapped” in the studio producing tracks for their first album called Monochrome – “Children of House FWD 01″ [Ido Music] which was celebrated in Romania with an amazing album launch party at Studio Martin and will soon be available worldwide. After the success of that night, Studio Martin, the Bucharest legendary club, offered Livio & Roby their own monthly night, a residency that the boys decided to call „Children of House”, as the album. Meanwhile the boys also own residencies in famous clubs like La Mania on the Black Sea coast and Kristal Club in Bucharest.Beside their residencies they´re also players in some of the best known European clubs.
In 2008 they happened to play a set together with Loco Dice in Romania. He was so fascinated by their music and talent, that he decided to make them join the Artist Alife family. Thus they connected also with Desolat, where we surely will be able to hear more in the next time. Livio & Roby : Two very talented guys to keep an eye on in the future.

INFECTED MUSHROOM @ EPIC 03.19.10
Psy-Trance innovators Infected Mushroom have become one of the biggest electronic bands on the planet. Twice ranked among the world’s 10 best DJs by the bible of the scene, the U.K.’s DJ Magazine, the Israel-bred, L.A. based duo bring a frenetic rock energy to the form. Their explosive show, featuring guitars, live drums, intensely passionate vocals and an ambitious multimedia backdrop, ranks among the genre’s most unpredictably joyous events. And their recordings continually venture where other electronic acts fear to tread. Amit “Duvdev” Duvedevani and Erez Eisen have been working for nearly two years on an aggressive new album – their first since 2007’s critically acclaimed Vicious Delicious – for dance-music visionary Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label. Duvdev describes the as-yet untitled record, recorded at Infected Mushroom Laboratory in L.A. and slated for a June 2009 release, as a return to the pair’s metal roots. Guests include singer Jonathan Davis of Korn, who lends his estimable pipes to the track “Smashing the Opponent.”
