AVB at First Ave was amazing. It was one of the first major club shows I saw that went really late (last call had just been extended, and AVB kept spinning until 3). It was an intense party that would not stop. I also dug on the fact that while so many dj’s always look so intense, he had a shit eating grin the whole set.

Armin van Buuren caught my eye back in late 2005 with his legendary “A State of Trance” Radio Show. I was looking around on the internet and came across a website talking about his A State of Trance 2005 Year Mix compilation. I tuned into the internet radio to listen to it and I was blown away. From that point on I’ve listened to every weekly A State of Trance Episode to this day. That was from episode 233 to 423. I love his style and his taste. He is leading the Trance scene today with his Armada @Amnesia nights in Ibiza and his radio show. Not to mention his epic Armin Only: Imagine World Tour last year!

He is hands down the most passionate DJ/Artist is the Trance genre right now and works so hard day in and day out. I love seeing him live!! I can’t wait 2 more days!!

My favorite memory of Armin van Buuren is from the show he played in the Ascot room of the old Quest a few years ago. It started to get really packed in there by the end of the night, but that definitely intensified the vibe of an excellent night. He rocked the intimate setting just as he would a stadium full of people.

My first show was at Spin a year or two ago. It was laser lights and sound and people and dancing and very amazing. A great DJ will make all your senses saturated with what they do. AVB does that.

Armin’s show was my first experience at Spin last year. As soon as I came in the doors the music just hit me. He knows how to throw one hell of a show. I was in the early phases of liking electronic music, and this show changed my outlook on the genre. Being live at a show intensifies the music so much. I would like to give credit to Armin in being enthusiastic in his music. He was having just as much fun as the audience members. I have the opportunity to go to only a select number of concerts this year because of my schedule, but I made sure that this is one I can attend. Almost anyone who likes to dance to music, or even just enjoy the sounds will appreciate his style.

Favorite moment is when ASOT 2007 came out, and my friends had to do a double take, asking if I posed for his cover. Being compared to a legend was pretty awesome.

I knew of Armin six years ago and listened to his earlier music like Burned With Desire with Justine Suissa. In my opinion, he’s one of the best DJs out there. I saw AVB live for the first time last year at Epic nightclub. It was my first techno show ever. It played a real significant part in my life just to see how these musicians do their work. I gained a lot more appreciation and respect for what they do. That night the music got into my soul and it felt as though my pulse was the beat of his composition. After the show, AVB inspired me to explore other djs’ music as well. He is truly an inspiration for aspiring djs and is a legend. It is unfortunate that I will not have enough funds to attend the show this year. I will always be a fan of AVB and will go to the show whenever i have the opportunity.

I remember listening to old ASOT episodes when Armin was still speaking in Dutch and I had no idea what he was saying, but the must was just amazing. One of my favorite experiences seeing him was the first time I saw him perform here at the Ascot Room @Quest. I was a little disappointed when I found out it wasn’t in the main room, but by the end of the night I was glad it wasn’t. It started off kind of slowly, but whomever opened for him back then had the crowd as pumped as I’ve ever seen. By the time Armin got going the entire dance floor was completely packed and it was well over 100 degrees in there. I remember standing just a foot or two away from Armin, and he looked like he was having the time of his life. He didn’t care that there were only a couple of hundred people there. The entire crowd was just bouncing up and down as one. It was too loud to hear anyone, so I typed a song title and artist into my phone showed it to Armin. When he saw what I had written he just nodded his head and smiled. I couldn’t believe it. He turned around and grabbed the cd and threw on my song. After that I didn’t even mind the fact that I had to leave my car in the parking ramp overnight and pay $25 to get it out. It was well worth it. Thanks again Armin. We all knew how great you were going to be way back then.
